Bruce W. Fears
As President, Bruce Fears is responsible for Aramark's operations at conference centers, national and state parks, national forests, zoos, aquariums, museums, and other tourist destinations throughout the United States.
Fears, who has more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, is a recognized leader in the travel and tourism community and is often asked to provide commentary for news stories and present at industry conferences.
Fears first joined Aramark in 1974 as food and beverage manager at the Skyland Lodge of Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, before rising to the level of regional vice president. He was also an integral part of ARAMARK’s management team at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.
Fears left Aramark to become president of Delaware North Companies Parks and Resorts. He returned to our company in May 2005 as Executive Vice President, Aramark Parks and Resorts, and assumed his current position in October 2005.
Fears received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bridgewater College in Virginia and continued through programs at the University of London’s School of Economics and the University of Florida’s School of Management.
He currently sits on the National Board of the Travel Industry of America and is Vice Chairman of the National Park Hospitality Association. In addition, he's a board member of the Northwest National Parks Conservation Association and is a proud partner of the National Park Foundation.
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
As Vice President Sales & Marketing, Sandy Heilman is responsible for managing our sales and marketing, e-commerce, revenue management and Central Reservations functions. She brings over 20 years of sales, marketing, and e-commerce experience in the hospitality industry.
Heilman joins us from Medieval Times Entertainment where she was Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Prior to Medieval Times, she was Executive Vice President of Marketing for La Quinta Corporation with responsibility for National Marketing, Loyalty, E-Commerce, Central Reservations, Marketing Research and Strategy. Heilman began at La Quinta as Vice President, Electronic Distribution and Marketing successfully building the team and overall strategy for online development and positioning. She held a variety of marketing and electronic distribution positions at Choice Hotels International.
Sandy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Eastern Michigan University.
Vice President, Food and Beverage
Stapleton joined The Ritz-Carlton Company as Sous Chef at the Atlanta Ritz-Carlton, a AAA Four-Diamond, Mobil Four-Star hotel in 1987. Over the next 10 years, he held a series of chef positions at Ritz-Carlton properties as his talents continued to be recognized and rewarded. He became Executive Chef at the Four-Star, Four-Diamond Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis in 1991, and two years later was honored as St. Louis’ Chef of the Year. In 1994 he was named Executive Chef at the Ritz-Carlton in Palm Beach, Florida, a AAA Five-Diamond, Mobil Five-Star hotel.
Stapleton turned his career in a slightly different direction in 1995, leaving the world of large, national hotel organizations for The Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. As Executive Chef, he quickly made the AAA Four-Diamond hotel restaurant, Il Palio, one of the most popular fine-dining venues in the Research Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill) area. Along with receiving recognition in regional and national magazines, Il Palio in 1999 was named Restaurant of the Year, and Brian was honored as Chef of the Year in the Triangle.
His talents were showcased in August 2003 and September 2005 when he was a guest chef at the James Beard House. He represented the State of North Carolina at the 2004 National Seafood Cook-off in New Orleans (which has aired on The Food Network), was selected to represent AAA of North Carolina on a chef’s cruise in October 2006, and participated in the Chef’s Advisory Board for the North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission and North Carolina Seafood Commission. Stapleton continues to appear on local and national television and at countless charity events in North Carolina, and travels throughout the country performing demonstration cooking and representing North Carolina in various food and wine events. He is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.
Vice President, Business Development
As Vice President, Business Development, Bob Concienne is responsible for all new and retention business activity across North America. Over the last 8 years, Bob has held positions of increasing responsibility with Aramark to include Director, Business Development for Business Dining-Pacific and Midwest Regions and Vice President, Alaskan Operations. Bob secured major food service contracts at Symantec and Level 3 Communications as well as led the successful sales effort at Monterey Bay Aquarium as well as securing two new food service and retail operations at The Field Museum in Chicago. Prior to his tenure with Aramark, Bob worked for Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts, serving as Director, Operations in Yosemite National Park as well as Director, Quality Assurance and Standards for the Parks & Resorts enterprise as well as National Express Corporation, serving as Vice President & Growth Officer for North America.
Bob attended the University of California, Davis, Biological Sciences and is an active member of Denver/Boulder community philanthropic organizations such as the United Way and Habitat for Humanity.
Vice President, Retail
As Vice President of Retail, Eric's responsibilities encompass leading the Retail Operations and Purchasing for all our Parks and Cultural Attractions.
Prior to joining Aramark, Flanigan was with Event Network, Limited where he was Executive Vice President of Operations. Flanigan was involved in all areas of establishing Event Network's International Business. Flanigan set up operations in the UK, Germany, Denmark and Portugal. He previously held the position of Vice President of Store Quality for Event Network, Inc based in North America. Flanigan has 28 years of retail operations and merchandising experience, of which 13 have been in the cultural attraction industry. Flanigan also has 15 years of experience in the Grocery and Drug Store Retail Industry, where he held various management positions. Flanigan is passionate about exceeding the expectations of the client and visitor through operational excellence.
Eric holds a BA in History from The Ohio State University.
Vice President, Southwest Region
As Vice President of Operations for the Southwest Region, Eric's responsibilities encompass leading the operations at Glen Canyon Recreation Area (Lake Powell), Wilderness River Adventures (Grand Canyon / Canyon Lands), Togwotee Mountain Lodge, Mesa Verde National Park, Pikes Peak, and Kartchner Caverns State Park. Eric brings to the role keen insight into guest service developed through his unique experiences in finance and operations.
Johnson began his career at Aramark in Corporate Finance and Audit before being appointed as the Director of Compliance for the Sports and Entertainment Division. As the Regional Finance Director for the Southwest Region, Eric worked closely with the VPO and other operational leaders to establish strong operational, financial and guest service protocols that lead to strong financial performance and enhanced guest service scores.
In 2011, Eric was promoted to Vice President of Operations for Lake Powell. During this transition he has developed strategic partnerships with the National Park Service, the local communities, tour companies and other vendors, that have lead to greater sales. The focus on guest service and operational execution continue to pay dividends with regard to financial performance and customer engagement.
Prior to joining Aramark, Johnson was with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York, NY, where he worked with the Assurance and Business Advisory Services Group.
Eric holds a BS in Accounting from Kings College, Pennsylvania and MBA from Saint Joseph's University Haub School of Business, Pennsylvania.
Vice President, Operations - West
David joined Aramark as part of the acquisition of Fine Host Corporation in 2007, where is spent 13 years developing his career in the hospitality industry and becoming the Regional Vice President of West Coast Operations.
David currently serves as the Vice President of Operations for the Western Region of Aramark Leisure, which covers Alaska, California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon. During his tenure at both Fine Host and Aramark, David has been able to lead hospitality, dining and guest service delivery for stadium, arenas, convention centers, conference centers, hotels and cultural attractions, as well as leading the project teams for three Super Bowl operations.
Known for his focus on high-quality operational execution and developing future talent, David has received several awards for operational excellence and was named District Manager of the year in 2006.
He holds a BA in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Northern Illinois University.
Vice President, Operations - East
With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality and restaurant business, Eliot joined Aramark in January 2011 as Vice President of Operations – East, managing a broad portfolio of products and services with a focus on cultural attractions and conference centers. Hermanson is currently accountable for operational excellence, client relations, marketing efforts, safety and employee/guest well being and financial goal achievement.
Hermanson joined Aramark from Rock Bottom Restaurants Inc, Brewery Division. As Vice President of Operations, he was responsible for the national operations, marketing, development and human resources for 3 concepts with 44 locations. During his time at Rock Bottom Restaurants, Hermanson demonstrated expertise in managing high-volume, fast-paced restaurants focused on quality food and service in an inviting atmosphere to the guests.
Known for being a dynamic and dedicated leader, Hermanson has maintained a proven record of accomplishments in new business development, growing existing business and turning around underperforming operations in a turbulent economy. His entrepreneurial spirit and unrelenting determination to achieve outstanding bottom-line results make him invaluable asset to Aramark.
Hermanson holds a B.S. in Hotel and Tourism from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Director, Sustainability and Engineering
In her leadership role, Allison focuses on developing, implementing and maintaining a clear vision, strategy and programs related to sustainability, while maintaining alignment with the corporate social responsibility platform, strategic plans and specific business objectives.
Allison specializes in reducing the environmental impact of large-scale operations, and minimizing environmental risks that arise through daily activities and services provided. To this end, she and her team design and implement programs that reduce overall waste generation and natural resource consumption, as well as build robust systems to divert waste from landfills and reduce risks to local watersheds and air quality.
In addition, she leads a process to develop a set of performance indicators that help us measure performance over time. This data acts as the foundation for target setting and the development of actions that ensure continuous improvement of programs and advancement of the mission.
In addition to her work for Aramark's Leisure division, Allison participates in ARAMARK’s Corporate Social Responsibility Team and the ARAMARK Office of Environmental Sustainability.
Prior to joining Aramark, Allison ran her own consulting business in the areas of sustainability and environmental risk management. Her other professional experiences include industrial engineering, operations leadership, environmental health and safety (EHS), compliance and value engineering for Lockheed Martin, ERM and WuXi App Tec.
Allison holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University and an M.Eng. in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT.
